Anyone ever have a TBC (trailer brake controller ) fault pop up on the message display in there truck .It only did it once and i was not even using it . I am stumped , did not do it any more , so maybe one of those things that just happens I guess . Happen to any one else ?

I got the same thing today on my 06 F250. Found this thread on a google search and joined up. ANybody know WTH is wrong with the thing? I was going over some bumpy stuff and I heard "DING" and looked at the dash and saw it. I just got the truck.....so I was concerned:eek:

i made mention of it on another site and it is happening more and more . alot of them are a bad connection in the wire harness behind the controler , the bump in the road may have made it jiggle . they said not to big a concern unless it keeps happening .

Look for moisture in the trailer plug connector. You are going to have to take
the connector loose from the bracket and disconnect it from the vehicle. Then look in the connectors for moisture. if there is any it will probably be in the trailer plug half. Blow all the moisture out with compressed air. Then add some dielectric grease to each terminal before reconnecting it back to the vehicle harness. This system is very sensitive so the little bit of current that can travel through the moisture can cause a tbc fault.
