I was having problems engaging my 4X4 when I first bought my new GMC. Being that in the past I ahve had floor shift 4X4, this was a very slow shifting T-case. After changing all the fluids to Amsoil Severe Gear 75-90 in the front and rear diff's and putting 1 quart of Amsoil 5-30 and 2 quarts Torq Drive ATF, this thing now shifts in instantly. I filled the extra quart of fluid throught the speed sensor, for those that have never done this.
The 5-30 in the t-case is supposed to help with the pump rub issue that the General is having on this style.
