I had nothing but problems with my 02 F-350 7.3L Powerstroke dually crew cab. Bad Transmission, bad cam position sensor, HEUI injector problems, poor idle missfire, etc, at one point while at the Memphis, Ford dealerships a Ford Diesel engineer was looking at warranty cases mine included vague responses to my questions, I suspect to avoid having to replace the engine, hence I no longer own Ford Diesels.IMO Ford should have stuck with the 7.3L, from what I have experienced had the least amount of problems of the three Powerstrokes; however the cost of repair, and downtime hurt my buisness, no help from Ford either.

Not trying to start a P!$$in match but:

FORD has had 6.9NA, 7.3NA, 7.3turbo, 7.3 PS, 6.0PS, & now 6.4PS
CHEVY ... 350conversion(ooops),6.5, 6.2, 6.6, and what is in them now??
DODGE 5.9turbo........................................20 07.5= 6.7turbo

What does that say for them?

It says (even though I'm a proud Powerstroke owner, and repeat buyer at that - 7.3PS and 6.0PS) Dodge has the best engine.
They all have their good points and bad points. If you take care of them, they all should last, regardless of make. Diesels are plow horses, not thoroughbreds.

the only reason dodge even changed the cummins from the 5.9 to the 6.7 was because of the emmisions stuff. the dpf filter and the egr take away so much of the motors power and performance. i know alot of guys who are running dpf and egr delete kits on there trucks and they are twice the motor now. just my $.02
