Who has any knowedge or experience with this new trans. What does it feel like, how does it act, is it going to be something worthwhile?

I have enjoyed it, it is smooth and I like being able to control the gears if I need too. Haven't hauled anything yet but expect it to come in handy when I do.

I know this new automatic is suppost to be bullet proof and one tuff trans. I know someone that all ready has over 130,000 miles on his 2007 3500 dually 6.7 with the automatic and tows very heavy long hauls towing pigs everyday, 1200 head at a time and has not had one problem with new 6 speed automatic.

actually the cab & chassies are the one with the aisin trannys because of the PTO. the 6 speed auto in the others are a chrysler tranny. they are undestructable either way.

JFYI -- According to the Dodge Dealers the AS68RC (aisin) transmission takes a special fluid. Dealer wants you to believe this, the AS68RC ATF is nothing special and according the this chrysler link below I provided on page 14 under ATF fluids you can see the specs for this fluid, they meet AMSOILS ATF specs. I called AMSOIL on this and they varified it.

Page 14 of this link will show you the Mopar AS68RC ATF and it's approved against specs.
