I have many aftermarket parts on my 7.3 turbo motor which is sitting at 680,000 and its never ran better!
As far as the lower end its bullettproof enough!! The only thing i have seen is loss of ring seal and a melted piston here and there from over running. The 7.3 turbo second generations are great and ford never should of changed them ! I have seen issues with many parts on 6.0's. My point is if u get good deal then hell yeah it will likely outlast your ownership the motor is known for exceding on ocasions well over 1,000,000 miles and are fun to put chip, exaughst, intake on and if it needs rebuilding then go ahead cause its worth it! Whats funny is dealership wants 13,200 for rebuilt including core but a decent machine shop & parts can rebuild with performance rings for around 2,000-3,000 depending on what needs done-. Powerstroke till death does us part!....im just thinking out loud !
