I been reading about guys putting 2 stroke oil in their fuel for added lubrication. The thing is, most of the guys own older diesels. Anyone try this with a common rail engine? Any benefits or downsides? Comments? Concerns? Seems like it would be of help to engines used to non ULSD fuel.
I know alot of guys using 2 cycle oil mixed with their diesel fuel for added lubricity due to the new diesel fuel being dry. They are using a TCW3 2 cycle oil which burns clean. I ran lots of 2 cycle oil in my older 2002 Dodge cummins with Amsoil diesel fuel concentrate, the mix for me worked great. For the newer diesels with emissions DPF's I would only run a recommended diesel fuel additive, I run the Amsoil diesel fuel concentrate in my new 2009 for added lubricity.
