Just diagnosed problem with oil leak. Coming from transfer case. The famous pump rub that the older ones are noted for. A small pin hole on upper rear side of the case on the passenger side. Have to replace the back half next week.
The pumps purpose in the transfer case is to supply lube oil to the drive sleeve and range planetary set. Their is a anti rattle clip in the case that is used to take up tolerance between the pump body and the case. The pump body has a tendency to cut through the clip and the rear housing.
Hoping the new parts are up graded.
