2001 dodge cummins surging

I have a 2001 dodge 2500 cummins. When i start accellerating down the road my pickup surges, or jerks like it has plugged injectors or a dirty fuel filter. The real kicker here is that as soon as i put the cruise control on the surging quits. I have a superchip tuner for my pickup, and when i install it, it intensifies the problem. I have talked to local mechanics and dealerships and no one seems to know what to do. Has anyone had a problem like this???

I had a 2002 CTD, did the same thing, ran the SuperChip also, was trouble free till my fuel pressure was running low and in return took out my injection pump.


1. When is the last time you change your fuel filter.

2. Do you a a fuel pressure gauge, if you do what is it at idle and WOT.

3. Do you still have origanal lift pump
