How long did it take you to install the BMK 11? and I can't tell exactly where that is you mounted it.
The BMK-11 was a simple install and took little over a 1 - 1.5 hrs. It's mounted on the passenger side firewall lip in that opening aside of the battery. I fabricated a simple bracket to match the bolt pattern of the BMK-11 mounting holes with a 90 deg lip about 1/2 " wide, welded to the end with 2 1/4" holes. I popped out the one plastic fastener on the lip and drill this hole to 1/4"" and spaced the other hole and drilled.
After mounting, all you need to do is remove the air box hose to get room to remove the 1/8" NPT fitting on top of the oil filter housing and insert BP-241 fitting, measure and cut hose to length & assemble fittings on ends of hoses and intall one to filter housing (BP-241) and other end to (in) on bypass block, other hose to (out) on bypass block and to BK-1301 oil fill cap. This photo shows the OEM cap I modified with a swivel fitting, I highly recommend the BK-1301 aluminum billet cap.
I choose this location to show future customers, also makes changing the bypass filter easy. Hope this helps.

did you fabricate the part yourself or someone do it for you? If you did it yourself may need to get you to do another soon.
I fabricated the bracked myself. I supervise a machine shop, so I have all the machines to do the job. No problem, I plan on fabricating a few to stock in my shop.

Herb,
Have you had any problems with the By-Pass filter and vibration. I have heard you have to be very carefull where you mount these things b/c they will vibrate.
I have heard this also, but no I have no vibration or noise at all.

Herb, if you are willing to sell one, I would love to buy one from you. That bracket is slick, and I plan on installing a bypass on my truck sometime shortly after the new year.
Scott
No problem Scott, I have one almost done on my desk at work, just have to make the bottom support that goes up against the firewall.

Herb,
Any idea if your bracket would work on other model trucks or is spefically for the dodge. I have a couple of customers who are interested in the system and they have ford and chevy diesels. What do think is the best option here?
Hi Chris, the best option is to look at all the photos on Amsoils webstie that Amsoil customers and Dealers have sent in on their bypass systems, this can give you a idea of there to find your correct place to mount. Depending on where you want to mount it the bracket can get complex and sometimes its simple. My bracket is just Aluminum channel cut and has the 3 holes drilled into it to match the bypass block holes. Not sure on the firewall of a Ford or Dmax.

Hi Herb,
I'm new to the diesel power site. I'm trying to gather as much info as I can .
Here's my situation, and I know if I had amsoil there would be no questions, but you live and learn after the fact.
On christmas day my 2006 Ford F-350 with 16,851 miles on it, lost power and then died. We had it towed to a Ford dealership. Where my nightmare bagan. I was told because my truck was dead they could not run any trouble codes , it would crank but not turn over. However, they were able to tell me that because , I know here is the kicker, because of my aftermarket oil filter came apart in the oil housing unit that 3 fragments from the filter has caused damage to 2 maybe more of my injectors. Of course Ford will not cover this due to we did not go through them for the oil or oil filter. Ford is stating that the oil filter is a defect. Any information or comments ( other than I should have used amsoil ) : ) Have you heard of this before , an oil filter coming apart ? Injectors damaged from the fragments ?
any information you may have would be helpful,
Kandi
Hi Kandi, posted reply in the correct Ford section. This may help you !
I'm in the process of making 6 more bypass brackets for mounting to the firewall lip. Includes bracket and fire wall support. I have one done in stock. Will see if I can get a photo up soon.
