Dodge 3/4ton cummins 2002 good or bad year

I have heard rumors that there maybe a bad block or engine that came out of mexico and you can tell by checking the serial number, does anyone know about it this and what series serial number should I watch out for thanks

I believe the block was stamped 53. Not totally sure on that.

As far as I know the 2002 did not have any 53 blocks. I think the last year was 2000 or 2001.

I'm with Herb on this one.. I would look anyway on the block, but I doubt it'll bea 53 block.
